The triathlon training blog of Phil Barnes

Still plodding along

I'm still too far out to start a formal plan for my half-marathon. In the mean time I've been doing myself a favour by running slowly. I just finished another hour of slow easy running - I'm finally getting the hang of it. It's taken a while for my legs to overcome my ego, and to just let my heart train at a much lower pace.

Tonight, I think I realized some gains - I ran a little faster, at a little less average heart-rate. Perhaps it is too early to difinitively measure - but I know I'm sure that I'm on the right track in the training department.

It has been over a month since I had a good tempo run. However, my Wednesday night boxing class makes up for that.
