The ACL Reconstruction

My wife goes under the knife today to have her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repaired. The ACL is a stabilizing ligament that connects the thighbone to the shinbone. She tore it over 20 years ago, but has put off having it repaired until now.



From friends that have had this surgery done, it is very painful, with a long recovery ... but it is well worth it. Usually, ending up with a much stronger knee after the fact.

Guylaine is as active as I am, so it was tough for her to commit to this. The doctor's best prognosis for recovery... she can be running again perhaps as soon as 3 months.

Oh boy.
